Correct option: (C) r will decrease and v will increase

Explanation:

When energy decreases i.e. it becomes mare negative then r will decrease now KE = [(GMm) / 2r] i.e. when total energy decrease, KE will be more as TE = – KE

KE = (1/2)mV2 i.e. if KE is increasing to keep TE constant then Velocity V will increase
