After counsel with one another the city defenders decided that it would not be honourable to kill Marianna for the sins of her son. They thought that the city did not need her even as a hostage. Her son did not care her. They believed that he had forgotten her. They thought that her son had been fiend and it was her punishment if she thought she had deserved it. They believed, that it was more terrible than death itself.
